Loud As Rock has been described as having high energy with a flare for merging driving rock riffs and pop sounds. One fan ‘s description was; “sounds like Gordon Lightfoot on steroids.”
Members in the band have found inspiration in almost every form of music from August Burns Red, Larry Norman and Jimmy Hendrix, also inspiration has been drawn from artists such as Fly Leaf, TFK, Nirvana, to name a few. Fans have compared their sound to U2, Pink Floyd, Smashing Pumpkins and Neil Young.
Loud As Rock formed in 2008 emerging from a small town in Northwestern Ontario. The family originally lived in Selkirk Manitoba and then moved to Winnipeg where they lived for 7 years. What makes Loud As Rock unique is that it's family band with Jessie on the Bass and vocals, Josiah on drums and parents Adria on the keys and backing vocals and Marcel on the guitar and lead vocals. Most recently family friend Colin Hillier has been added to the mix on rhythm guitar. The family has been known to have toured Manitoba and played venues in Selkirk, Gimli, Niverville and Winnipeg. They have played in church settings as well as festivals, coffee houses and most recently the Dryden Legion to near sell out crowd of over 200 for their CD release concert. They have received radio play on CKDR Dryden and been sponsored by prominent businesses such as McKinstry Chrysler, Wilson's Business Solutions, and CKDR Dryden.
Loud As Rock has played for audiences of over 400 people in festivals, fundraisers and has both opened and headlined for shows.
Original songs explore subject matter which come from band members own life experiences and observations. The band raises questions, on subjects that explore injustice and real life challenges such as Adria nearly losing her life in 2009 to Marcel working through and surviving cancer treatments in 2007.
Shows have included a wide range of creative integration of light shows and imagery flashed behind the band through multimedia projection.
Careful consideration has been taken by the band members to pursue a lifestyle of living for change and justice. The songs tell the stories which point to a creator who is in love with people and an invitation may be heard to pursue a life of purpose. They believe that life can be better which can start with small things. This is a band that both invites the audience to have fun and dance and paints a picture of something more.
